You knew the NFL was bringing theSuperBowl to New Jersey in 2014 the moment the league floated the idea months ago.Well, today it became official.
Apparently, it took the owners four ballots to pick the new $1.6 billion Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. I'm sure there was some arm twisting to make this happen. After all the hype surrounding this selection, a vote against New York would have been a vote against mom, apple pie and the American way.
As someone who has gone tothe past VIII Super Bowls, I wouldn't mind the nextXXSuperBowls being split between Miami and San Diego. It's kind of nice getting out of here the first week in January.
However, that being said, I also would love to see a Super Bowl played inthe snow in front of real football fans and not people in suits and fancy dresses texting to other people insuits and fancy dresses.

So I like the ideaof a New York/New Jersey Super Bowl. But let's not limit this tothe Big Apple. Let's also take this thing to the Big Bratover in Green Bay. I mean if we're going to play a cold-weather Super Bowl, dontcha think there should be one at Lambeau?
Or how about Cleveland, the only NFL city that has neverparticipated in or hosted a Super Bowl?
New Yorkisn't the only cold-weather, outdoor-stadium city that should get a Super Bowl.
I'd also love it if the NFLset aside one year andsimply played the game at the site of the team with the best record.Give it a shot. Let the true fans of the team with the best record enjoy the Super Bowl and home-field advantage in their city, wherever it may be and however cold it may be. Sure, it would be a dragfor the corporatejet-setters and their Playboy parties. But there will always be another SuperBowltheycan fly off to.
